Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F degrees.

Step 2

Cover the buckwheat grits with water, add a pinch of salt, and cook for 15 minutes until ready. Leave them to cool.

Step 3

Add ground chicken, finely diced pork fat or fatty bacon, salt and pepper. Mix the ingredients well, and form patties.

Step 4

Coat the patties with semolina and place them on an oiled roasting pan. Roast for 15-20 minutes.

Step 5

For the sauce, mix tomato paste with water and a coarsely grated apple. Add slices of chili pepper, salt and sugar, and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Just before removing the sauce from heat, add instant coffee.

Step 6

Serve the buckwheat patties with hot tomato sauce.
