Pampushky (buns) with mushroom sauce: Directions
Make yeast dough. Dissolve the yeast in warm water, add sugar. Put flour through a sieve and mix with salt, egg, oil, yeast mixture and water. Knead soft dough. Form a dough ball and leave it in an oiled bowl for 40 minutes.
Press down the dough and form small bun shapes. Oil the baking tray and place the buns at a small distance from one another.
Leave the buns for 20 minutes for the dough to rise, then brush with egg yolk. Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 20–25 minutes until a shiny golden brown crust forms.
In the meantime, make the mushroom sauce. Fry finely diced onion on an oiled frying pan for 3–5 minutes, then add sliced button mushrooms and cook until all liquid evaporates. Add heavy cream and simmer for 3 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve pampushky with the sauce.
