What could be cozier than baked oatmeal with a touch of warm cinnamon and honey? It’s a breakfast that easily doubles as dessert – and it’s amazingly easy to make. In fact, it’s a great recipe to try out with your kids. And if you want to make this dish even more delicious, just add more berries or your favorite nuts. Trust me, you’ll love it.

In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, softened butter and honey. Then add the baking powder, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix well to combine.

Using a fork, mash up the banana. Add it to the oat mixture.

Crush the walnuts pieces of whatever size you prefer and add them to the mixture.

Pour in the milk. Stir well.

Carefully mix in half of the berries. Be careful not to overmix and mash in berries too much. Let the mixture rest for about 20 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180C. Generously butter a baking dish (or line it with parchment paper). Pour in the oat mixture and spread it out evenly. Lay out the remaining berries on top. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with only a few dry crumbs. Serve with honey, sweetened condensed milk or a generous dusting of confectioner’s sugar.
